Welcome to Kaleidoscope Corner
Hello Parents! Welcome to a new year of Kaleidoscope Corner! We are excited to introduce you to all of the changes happening for your children this year.
Beginning this Fall, we will be following curriculum designed by the UCC that focuses on Faith Practices rather than Bible stories. Our goal is for our children to be able to answer questions such as “What does it mean to be a Christian?”,or, “What values do I demonstrate as part of my Christianity?” During the 2013-2014 Kaleidoscope Corner year, we will be discussing two Faith practices:“Giving and Receiving Hospitality” in the Fall, and “Celebrating the Sabbath”in the Spring. The children will be learning these Faith Practices through fun activities including: Music, Games, Science, Computers/Video, Cooking and Art.
To make our program a success, we are in need of teachers and shepherds to lead our children through these lessons. Please see the “Teachers and Shepherds” section of the website to sign-up; lesson plans for the first three workshops can be found under the “Lesson Plans” section.
We are also very excited to incorporate the Kids in Community (KIC) activities throughout the year. As part of being good stewards in our community, we feel it is important for our children to learn the importance of charity and volunteerism. Look for more information in the future about our KIC events.
Please take a moment to read the “Rotational Model” section of the website. We are introducing some changes in our procedures each Sunday with an emphasis on the children having more time in the classroom learning about the Faith Practices.
Finally, please enroll your children by completing the form found in the “Registration Form” section of the website.
